Britton Ethridge, D.O., RN

A former nurse from Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Dr. Britton Ethridge had over a decade of experience in diverse healthcare settings, including neurosurgery, neonatal intensive care, and pediatric primary care before his medical training. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama and his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Ethridge’s journey into medicine began while serving on a mission trip to Costa Rica, when an unexpected hospital stay sparked a drive to improve global health equity, which prompted his involvement in numerous medical service trips to Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras since 2010. His belief that all people should have access to high-quality medical care and his desire to continue performing global mission work were the primary motivators that directed him to choose Family Medicine. His philosophy of care focuses on three major components: listening to each of his patients’ stories, performing a hands-on osteopathic assessment, and focusing on illness prevention whenever possible.

In his personal life, Dr. Ethridge prioritizes spending time with his wife and two daughters, who love to take their family dog, a Great Pyrenees, to run on the beach or to a local park. He also enjoys cycling, board games, playing pickleball, and flying his drone to capture scenic natural videos.
